The Footnotes
[i] Lord Wolfenden established the principle for the
decriminalisation of same sex relationships among gay men.
[ii] The decriminalisation of homosexual relationships
among consenting men over the age of 21. Ironically the Bill was supported by the
Archbishop of Canterbury, Michael Ramsey, in the House of Lords.
[iii] S28 politicised us
for a Generation. A Gay Man voting Tory is like a Jew buying a Return Train
Ticket to Auschwitz.
[iv] You don’t like this metaphor? Remember the Nazi’s also
sent Gay men to the Concentration Camps. After the war, while the Jews were released,
many Gay men remained imprisoned.
[v] The equalization of the age of consent to sixteen for
same sex relationships.
[vi] Of ground-breaking importance on every score.
[vii] Confirming, in law, the legalisation of members of the
LGBT communities in the Armed Services.
[viii] Whereby the Home Secretary without scrutiny, or approval, by Parliament, may deport Refugees and Asylum
Seekers (including LGBTQ+ people) from the United Kingdom
to Rwanda. There is no positive legislation to protect LGBT rights in Rwanda. This is not just wrong. This is evil.
[ix] Simon Harvey was a
member of the Chapel Youth Group. Unable to reconcile his humanity with the
bigotry, prejudice, and homophobia of the Chapel’s strict Evangelical culture,
he committed suicide. We found out the truth about Simon’s death from a television
documentary on the “Ex Gay movement”. George Harvey had responded to the death
of his son Simon by setting up “Anglia U Turn”: a charity to cure homosexuals
(sic).
[x] “And [Solomon] made the vail of
blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon”.
II Chronicles, Chapter three, Verse four. (Schofield Reference Bible: King
James Authorised Version).
[xi] “Lord, now you
release”.
[xii] I Thessalonians,
Chapter four, Verse sixteen (New Revised Standard Version).
[xiii] In
celebratory Ink, “Lord, now you release”.
[xiv] In Wisdom, King “Solomon made the curtain of
blue and purple and crimson fabrics
And fine linen, and
worked cherubim into it”. II
Chronicles, Chapter Three, Verse Fourteen. (New Revised Standard Version)
